About Josie

Josie is based in London and works internationally in theatre and opera as a director, movement director and facilitator.

Upcoming in 2024: The Rake’s Progress with Barbara Hannigan, Equilibrium Young Artists and Alumni, Swedish Radio Choir and Swedish Chamber Orchestra; and Requiem, Theater Basel.

Josie is an Associate Artist of The PappyShow and has worked with theatre company Complicite since 2010. She directed Much Ado About Nothing in the West End for National Youth Theatre.

She has revived opera productions for Simon McBurney and Romeo Castellucci at Adelaide Festival, Teatro di San Carlo Naples, La Monnaie Brussels, Wiener Festwochen, Theater Basel, Palau des Arts Valencia, Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, De Nationale Opera Amsterdam and English National Opera.

Josie leads courses and workshops for performers and non-performers in a variety of settings across a range of disciplines including creative collaboration, play, devised physical theatre, puppetry and movement.

She is interested in weaving together her experience in theatre and opera to create and direct new work in collaboration with musicians, actors, dancers and other artists.
